Certified occupational therapists (OTR) or occupational therapists who are graduates of World Federation of Occupational Therapy schools. Sorry, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) are not eligible for the program.

The program start date was January 8, 2002. This program, designed precisely for the working therapist and using a distance learning format, graduated the first class in December 2003. We have been educating occupational therapists at UF since 1958 and offering graduate programs since the early 1970’s.
The University of Florida is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the master's degree (AOTA does not offer an accreditation process for advanced graduate programs, only entry-level master’s programs).

Yes. You will need to visit UF once for a 1-3 day Professional Development Seminar prior to graduation. If you choose, you may also attend the OT Graduate Reception and UF Commencement Ceremony.

No, but you must pass the written Comprehensive Examination taken in the 5th semester of the program. Information about appropriate computer testing centers will be provided prior to the exam in order to insure academic honesty.
